Trojans Win Opening Game
Northwest defeated Carson 5-4 Tuesday afternoon in a game that started the night before. After three
innings and a score of 1-1, the rain rolled in and the game was suspended. The Trojans and the
Cougars picked up in the third and finished the game. Rob Bain picked up the win throwing
two innings and Parker Wethington nailed down the save. Offensively, the Trojans were led by
Corey Seager and Jarrin Hogue who each had two hits. Northwest will travel to South Rowan on
Tuesday night at 7:00 to face the Raiders.
Trojans Stumble in China Grove
In an uninspired game, Northwest fell 2-1 to the South Rowan. The Trojans stranded 12 base runners
and scattered 4 hit. The lone run was scored by Evan Holub on a wild pitch. Ryan Keziah, after
a rocky start, battled his way through 5 quality innings. Northwest evens their record at 1-1 and will
be back in action tonight as the Mustangs of East Rowan ride into town. Game time is 7:00.
Northwest Takes Down East
In a battle of ranked teams, Northwest defeated East Rowan by a score of 8-6. The Trojans
exploded in the 5th inning, capped off by a grand slam home run by Weston Smith. Michael Mariano
led the Trojan attack with two hits and Kyle Rohan added a solo home run. Rob Bain picked up his
second win of the season and Smith his first save. The Trojans are back in action Tuesday at Concord.

Trojans Handle The Spiders
Northwest defeated Concord by a score of 5-3 Tuesday afternoon. Weston Smith picked up his first
victory of the young season. Smith threw 6 strong innings and did not allow an earned run. David Broome
provided the offensive spark with three hits. The Trojans move to 3-1 and 1-0 in SPC play. They will be
back in action on Friday to complete the series with Concord.

Northwest Hammers Concord
Rob Bain picked up his 1st conference win of the season by four hitting the Spiders of Concord. The Trojans
exploded with 8 runs in the first two innings, that put the game out of reach, with big hits from Weston Smith
and Jarron Hogue. Hogue, Landon Hubbard, and Evan Holub each had two hits to lead the Trojan offensive attack.
Northwest will be back in action Tuesday at home when they host Mount Pleasant in a key early SPC match up.
Trojans Move to 3-0 in Conference Play
Northwest defeated Mt. Pleasent by a score of 11-3 behind the pitching of Weston
Smith. Smith moves to 3-0 in the conference. The Trojans struck first with a solo
homerun by Tanner Bigham in the first and five more in the second. Smith, David
Broome, and Kyle Rohan led the 11 hit attack for Northwest. The Trojans will be
back in action tomorrow night at 6:30 to try to complete the sweep of the Tigers.

Trojans Drop Heartbreaker
Northwest took a 4 run lead into the 7th only to see it slip away when Mt. Pleasant rallied to scored 4 and send
the game into extra innings. In the 10th, the Tigers hit a walk-off home run to win the battle. David Broome and
Tanner Bigham each had two hits and Jaron Hogue hit a grand slam to lead the Trojans on offense. Northwest
will play a non-conference game against Hopewell at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium Monday at 6:30 p.m..
Trojans Win in 7th
Weston Smith drove in the winning run in the 7th inning to defeat Hopewell in a wild game 14-13. William
Miller got the inning started off by getting hit by a pitch. Evan Holub them step up to the plate and tripled
to the right-centerfield gap. After intentional base on balls to load the bases, Smith delivered the winning
hit. Smith had three hits to lead the Trojans offensive attack. Tanner Bigham and Corey Seager both added
two, with Seager hitting his 1st homer run of the year in the 5th inning.
Seager's Blast Wins Battle
Corey Seager's home run lifted the Trojan back into first place in the SPC. The homer came when Seager
lead off the 8th inning to lift the Trojans to 2-1 win over the Bulldogs of Robinson. Seager was 3-4 on
the night. Weston Smith throw 5 strong innings allowing only 1 unearned run. Joey Hagl
throw great in relief and Parker Wethington picked up his 2nd win. Rob Bain nailed the victory
down for his 2nd save.
Trojans Complete Sweep
Behind a complete game by Rob Bain, the Trojans sweep the Bulldogs by a score of 4-1. Bain picked up
his 4th win of the season. Evan Holub and Kyle Rohan each had two hits for the Trojans and Rohan drove
in two runs. Northwest will travel to Hickory Ridge next Tuesday.
