Trojans Have Successful First Week
Northwest Cabarrus baseball team went 3-0 in the first week of play. The Trojans,
#4 in North Carolina State Polls and #4 in the Sweet 16, overcame a 4-run deficit to
defeat the Carson Cougars, on the road, by a score of 7-6. Parker Wethington
picked up his 1st win of the season and Jaron Hogue a save for the Trojans. Tanner
Bigham, Corey Seager, Jaron Hogue, and Weston Smith led the way offensively
with 2 hits apiece.
Weston Smith toed the rubber and was dominate against Myers Park, corralling the
Mustangs with a 4-hit shutout. He also struck out 10 on his way to his first complete
game of the year. Corey Seager and Jordan Goodman each had a RBI in the
Game.
Justin Dixon came in to relieve Ryan Keziah for his 1st career varsity win and the
Trojans defeated the Raiders of South Rowan 9-3. Corey Seager led the way with
three hit and two bombs. Tanner Bigham had two hits and a missile himself in the
5th inning. Jordan Goodman also had three hits for the Men of Troy.
